# TrueCite API Agreement Effective 27 September 2026. Between A.C.N. 688 027 367 PTY. LTD. (ACN 688 027 367, ABN 37 688 027 367) trading as TrueCite, of 13 Morley Avenue, Rosebery NSW 2018, Australia ("TrueCite", "we") and the business that accepts this agreement ("Customer", "you"). ## 1. The service 1.1 The TrueCite API (`/api/v2/verify`, `/api/v2/usage`, `/api/v2/coverage`) reports whether a case citation identifies a judgment in the source records TrueCite holds, with the evidence and its date. 1.2 The API does **not** check quotations, paragraph content, legal propositions or whether a case is still good law. An `UNRESOLVED` result is not a finding that a case does not exist. You remain responsible for any document you file or publish. ## 2. Account, keys and security 2.1 Production keys are issued only to a verified business (ABN for Australian companies; company registration for others) that has accepted this agreement and has a valid payment method on file. 2.2 Keys are confidential credentials for server-to-server use. You are responsible for all use of your keys until you revoke them at `/developers`. ## 3. Plans, allowances and fees 3.1 Plans and prices are as shown at `/developers` and on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. Australian customers' prices include GST. Customers outside Australia are charged GST-free as an export of services, in the currency shown for their country. 3.2 Monthly plans include a fixed number of checks per calendar month (UTC). Pay-as-you-go billing is not yet available. 3.3 **No overage.** When an allowance or cap is used up, requests are refused (HTTP 429 `QUOTA_EXHAUSTED`) until the next month or until you move to a larger plan. We never charge for checks beyond your plan. 3.4 Fees are charged to your payment method on file through our payment provider (Revolut) at the start of each billing period. 3.5 We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before changing the price of your plan; the new price applies from your next billing period after the notice ends. You may cancel at any time at `/developers`; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and your keys work until then. Fees already paid are non-refundable, except where this agreement or the law (including the Australian Consumer Law) requires a refund. ## 4. Acceptable use 4.1 No resale or sublicensing of the API or its results as a standalone citation-checking service without our written agreement. 4.2 No attempts to circumvent limits, share keys between unrelated businesses, or scrape the service outside the API. 4.3 Requests are subject to the per-minute rate limit shown at `/developers`; requests above it are refused (HTTP 429) and are not charged. Where you display results derived from UK records, you must keep the source attribution returned by the API, as required by the Open Justice Licence, and follow any licence conditions of other sources that the API returns with a result. ## 5. Data 5.1 Citations you submit are processed to produce results and retained for audit and idempotency as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not submit personal information beyond what a citation requires. 5.2 Records of your checks, keys and usage are kept until you ask us to delete them by emailing info@truecite.com.au (or info@truecite.uk) from your account email address, except any that Australian law requires us to keep for longer. The service is hosted in Singapore. Our service providers are Render (hosting), Brave (web search, used only when a citation is not found in the official source first checked) and Revolut (payments). ## 6. Availability and support 6.1 We will use reasonable efforts to keep the API available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service and offer no service-level credits. We may suspend the API for maintenance or security reasons, giving notice where practical. Support is by email to info@truecite.com.au or info@truecite.uk. ## 7. Liability 7.1 Nothing in this agreement excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty or other term or condition, implied or imposed by legislation (including the Australian Consumer Law) that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited ("Non-Excludable Rights"). 7.2 Subject to the Non-Excludable Rights, the API and its results are provided "as is", and all other warranties are excluded. Results are evidence to assist your own professional review and are not legal advice. 7.3 Subject to the Non-Excludable Rights, neither party is liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or any loss of profit, revenue, data or opportunity. 7.4 Subject to the Non-Excludable Rights, our total liability arising out of or in connection with this agreement is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Where liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee can be limited, it is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again. ## 8. Term and termination 8.1 Either party may end this agreement at any time; revoking all keys and cancelling the plan ends the service at the end of the paid period. 8.2 We may suspend or terminate your access immediately by notice if you materially breach this agreement (including clause 4) and, where the breach can be remedied, fail to remedy it within 14 days of notice, or if fees remain unpaid 14 days after they fall due. If we terminate for your breach, fees already paid are not refunded. If we end the service for any other reason, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid fees. ## 9. Changes 9.1 We may publish a new version of this agreement. A new version applies once you accept it; production access may require acceptance of the current version. ## 10. Law 10.1 This agreement is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the courts that may hear appeals from them.
